Duties may vary based on factors such as the level of care needed by the residents, facility policies, and regulatory requirements. Some common duties of healthcare workers for the aged in-home facilities include:

Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

Providing assistance with tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility for residents who may have difficulty performing these activities independently.

Medication Management

Administering medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, including medication reminders, dosage administration, and monitoring for adverse reactions or side effects.

Health Monitoring

Monitoring residents' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation, and reporting any significant changes or concerns to healthcare professionals.

Personal Care Services

Providing personal care services such as oral hygiene, skincare, hair care, nail care, and assistance with prosthetic devices or mobility aids.

Housekeeping and Environmental Maintenance

Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in resident rooms and common areas, including tasks such as bed-making, laundry, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to prevent the spread of infections.

Documentation and Reporting

Documenting observations, care provided, and resident interactions in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements and communicating relevant information to healthcare professionals and other staff members.

Safety and Emergency Response

Ensuring the safety and security of residents by following established safety protocols, responding to emergency situations promptly, and assisting with evacuation procedures in the event of a fire, natural disaster, or other emergencies.

Collaboration with Healthcare Team

Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team, including nurses, physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate care, address resident needs, and ensure continuity of care.
These duties require healthcare workers for the aged in-home facilities to have compassion, patience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
